Quarantine Cook 2020

No More Fast Food...

It wasn't until quarantine 2020, that I decided my family needed to have more home cooked meals and stick with it. The day after my birthday, the Coronorvirus changed our world. I rushed to pick up my son from college and my daughter and I were displaced from returning to school. It was a hard to decide what to do next, but knowing that this virus was easily spread, let me know one thing... I needed groceries and I needed them quick. 🛒

My cousin and I rushed to the grocery store and purchased food and supplies to last for weeks. I was a full believer of the virus and all that was to come. As items like Lysol and Tissue became hard to find, I stocked up.😷 Little to say, we had no reason to leave the house. I decided for my family of three, that we would only eat what we prepared. This was a hard decision, because if you know me... I am not a cook. I had a meal plan created and placed on the fridge. My kids even started complimenting me on my meals. As this continued, I realized, I actually enjoy cooking. I had a routine, my family and I ate at the table, we talked, we played games, had movie nights, but most importantly stayed safe.

We have started to have fast food every two weeks, but I think cooking in this house and eating at the table is a new found love that we enjoy.

Yesterday, I was reminded of what is now normal for me with a surprise gift from one of my BESTIES. 😀 She sent me a text to check my door and it was a new knife set to help with my new found love of cooking.
