Sunshine Scavenger Hunt

Out in the Sunshine... Time to enjoy some sun. If you have been stuck in the house and need some outside time, this is a great activity to do alone, with friends, or with your family. Before you know it, not only will you have your dose of Vitamin D, but you will moving and loving it. My daughter and I did a self scavenger hunt in our own yard and enjoyed the hot sun (I mean it was HOT), but fun. Feel free to share photos from your scavenger hunt as well in the comments.  Materials:  You Camera (we used our phones)  Ant View  Get down low and take a photo from an ants point of view.                             Birds View Go high and look down to see what the birds see.      Patterns Look around and find a pattern outside. You will be surprised by how many you find.       Shapes Shapes are everywhere... circles, triangles, octagons, and more. What goes on...

Hold Me Accountable

Accountability Partner or Partners During the 2020 Quarantine, I didn't want to waste precious time that I had been begging for to work on personal growth and home projects. It was important for me to have something to show for this unexpected time at home. I looked to friends and family to help push me. I quick reminder to keep pushing was sometimes all I needed, other times, a face-time call for me to prove I was working was what I needed. I realized not only was I in need of an accountability partner, but others needed me to help keep them accountable as well. It could be a home decorating project, achieving a certification, fitness goals, etc.  My accountability partners come in many forms. Each version will be different for what is needed in your life. I pick partners who have similar goals as me. I also pick partners who have reached the level that I strive to reach. Be willing to push each other. The Importance of Deescalation

The Importance of Deescalation-  A Roller-coaster of Emotions Deescalation is to decrease in intensity, magnitude, etc as described on Dictionary.com. Below are some ways I deescalate in the the school setting. This is from personal experiences and may vary for each person.  As a Teacher it is important to:  Build Relationships - this step happens prior to deescalating a student. Knowing a child's interest, helps with building relationships and during deescalation can help to take their mind off of what has made them so upset (for the moment). This does not mean, the issue will not be addressed, but timing is important.
